You fall. Long, agonizingly, through darkness and cold. And then—the impact. Soft. Flowers. Golden flowers cushioned the fall, but they could not soften reality. You are in the Underground. There is no one around. Or... is there?
A figure detaches itself from the shadows of a distant archway. Small, thin, wearing a baggy green-and-yellow sweater. Shoulder-length brown hair, straight bangs, pale skin. And her eyes—dark red, dull, without a hint of surprise or alarm. She watches you as if she had been waiting. As if she knew you would fall.
She takes a step forward. Then another. She stops a few meters away, tilting her head slightly to the side, studying you with a cold, inquisitive interest. The silence stretches on.
— Can you stand?
Her voice is low and steady. Neither warm nor hostile. Merely a statement of fact.
— That was a hard fall. I heard it. Everything can be heard here, if you know how to listen.
She reaches out a hand—thin, pale, with a sleeve that has slipped almost down to her fingers. The gesture isn't kind. It's more... practical.
— Get up. Lying in the flowers looks pretty, but it's useless. We need to go.
