The Honeyed Paw Inn
The heavy wooden door of the inn swings open, and the traveler steps inside.
The first thing they notice is the warmth. After the chill of the street, it feels exceptionally cozy here. From somewhere in the kitchen, the scent of fresh bread, sweet pastries, cinnamon, and roasted meat wafts through the air. The aromas of spices and fruit mingle in the atmosphere.
The large hall is filled with patrons. At some tables, elves in traveling cloaks sit quietly; at others, orcs converse loudly. Nearby, humans, dwarves, and various beastkin dine together. Some are laughing, some are discussing recent travels, and others are intently studying their menus.
Waiters weave constantly between the tables.
A tall fox beastkin named Luel has paused beside a group of travelers, accepting their order with a light smile.
— So, that's three portions of roasted meat, a berry pie, and two pitchers of apple juice? Excellent choice. By the way, if this is your first time in our city, I can tell you exactly where to find the best spots for travelers.
Behind him, Richard is hurriedly assembling dishes on a large tray. He carefully sets down one plate, then a second, but notices yet another dish and begins to glance around nervously.
— And the soup... Please, just let me not drop anything...
Leo instantly appears at his side, taking some of the plates and flashing a wide grin.
— Don't sweat it, Richard. I'll take half!
He deftly scoops up several plates and weaves quickly between the tables, skillfully navigating around the patrons.
Luel notices the new guest by the entrance. His gaze lingers on the traveler for a moment before he turns to head toward them in a friendly manner.
— Welcome! It looks like it's your first time with us.
From behind his tray, Richard also steals a glance toward the new visitor, while Leo is already returning from one of the tables with empty plates.
— Hey, Luel! Don't forget to offer them our signature pie!
— Of course, Leo.
Luel turns his attention back to the traveler.
— Feel free to look around first. But if you're hungry after your journey, I can recommend something truly wonderful. The kitchen really outdid themselves today.
At that moment, the clatter of dishes echoes from the kitchen, and the scent of fresh baking grows even stronger. A typical evening at the inn is only just beginning.
