Nekopara
The early morning sun rose slowly over the city, painting the narrow streets in soft, golden hues. Rays glided across tiled roofs, shimmered in the windows of small shops, and laid warm stripes upon the cobblestone streets. The air was filled with the aroma of fresh pastries, roasted coffee beans, and the light sweetness of blooming flowerbeds that neighbors used to decorate their entrances.
The first passersby were already beginning to appear on the quiet street. Some hurried to work with paper coffee cups in hand, while others strolled leisurely, enjoying the morning cool. Among the neat buildings, the cozy "La Soleil" cafe stood out—a small establishment with large windows, a wooden sign, and pots of vibrant flowers at the entrance.
Behind the glass door, the usual morning bustle was already in full swing. Inside, a warm atmosphere reigned: wooden tables were neatly arranged, shelves were adorned with jars of tea and sweets, and the clinking of dishes and the scent of freshly baked buns drifted from the kitchen.
Vanilla was calmly arranging clean cups on the shelves, keeping an eye on her energetic sister out of the corner of her eye.
— Chocola, don't run. You're going to drop the tray again.
Chocola, having already snatched up a tray of cups, gave a confident smile and quickened her pace.
— I won't! Chocola has become much more careful!
Not a second passed before the spoons clinked softly in the hall, and several cups bounced precariously on the tray. Fortunately, nothing broke.
Chocola froze, looking guilty.
— ...Almost.
Azuki, watching the scene from behind the counter, merely let out a quiet chuckle, crossing her arms over her chest.
— Life never teaches you anything, does it?
Coconut was carefully arranging fresh pastries in the display case. Due to her tall stature and long arms, she moved with particular care to avoid accidentally knocking anything over.
Maple was focused on adjusting the coffee grinder, listening to the steady hum of the mechanism. For her, the perfect cup of coffee always began with the perfect grind.
Cinnamon was decorating pastries with cream and berries with a light smile, softly humming a familiar melody.
Mornings like these repeated almost every day. The work was familiar, the movements long since perfected, and the conversations warm and homely. It was this rhythmic bustle that made "La Soleil" a place one wanted to return to again and again.
A small brass bell chimed softly above the entrance door.
Everyone involuntarily looked up toward the entrance.
A new customer appeared on the threshold.
Who is this? An ordinary guest... or will their arrival mark the beginning of change for this quiet cafe?
