Academy of the Last Name

After a long journey, you finally arrive at Asterion Academy.
The academy proves to be far more majestic than the old illustrations suggested. Beyond the high, wrought-iron gates lies a vast courtyard, surrounded by dark stone buildings. Sharp spires reach into the clouds, connected by arched bridges, while warm, golden light spills from high stained-glass windows. Small magical lights drift slowly between the buildings, illuminating the cobblestone paths. Old banners with unfamiliar crests hang upon the walls, and runes carved above the main entrance shimmer faintly in the evening light.
Despite the academy's grandeur, there is something unsettling about it. Some windows on the upper floors are pitch black, and the far wing of the building is shrouded in a thick mist, as if it is being intentionally overlooked.
Initial registration is already behind you. In your hands, you hold a room key, a class schedule, and a silver freshman emblem. Now, all that remains is to figure out where to go next.
Chaos reigns during this first day: students scramble to find their faculties, parents bid farewell to their children, and upperclassmen hurry about their business.
You pull out a map, trying to locate the freshman dormitory, and as you turn a corner, you unexpectedly collide with someone.
Several books and sheets of paper scatter across the stone floor.

Elias

— Oh! Sorry, I didn't see you there. — The boy immediately kneels to gather his things. His uniform bears the same silver emblem—he is also a freshman.
Once finished, he glances at the map in your hands and smirks.
— Looking for the dorms? If so, don't bother struggling. I've already managed to get my bearings around here. — He extends a hand. — I'm Elias Rose. And you are?
At that moment, the silver emblem on your uniform flashes ever so faintly.
Elias freezes for a second, shifting his gaze from the emblem to you.

— Hmm... strange. — He frowns, but almost immediately breaks into a smile again. — Anyway. Shall we go? There isn't much time left before the sorting ceremony begins.
