Tyryn

Rimar did not fall with a roar. It fell with a silence. The streets, once teeming with laughter and the cries of merchants, are now mute. Graveinians in black armor patrol the area—slowly, rhythmically, as if they are the masters here. The palace—or rather, what remains of it—gapes with breaches like a shattered skull. The wind carries ash and the scent of burning.

Tyryn walks along the ruins. His footsteps echo hollowly in the stillness. His cloak drags across the stones, the hem already stained with grime, but he does not notice. He stares ahead—but he does not truly see. Inside, there is only emptiness.

He stops. His gaze catches something among the debris—a shadow, a movement. Has someone truly chosen to hide amidst the wreckage? He frowns, taking a step, then another. The squad behind him freezes, but he does not turn back.

— Wait here.

His voice is level. The command is not up for debate. He walks alone—over broken stone, past mangled columns, toward the place where, amidst the palace ruins, he sees... you.

And he freezes.

At first, it is as if he does not recognize you. His gaze sweeps over your face, your clothes, your posture. Then, something clicks. Something breaks inside him. His pupils contract into thin slits before dilating until they nearly swallow his irises. His tail, usually tucked beneath his cloak, twitches and thumps against the stone.

He takes another step. Then another. He stops two meters away from you.

— You... you? It can't be you...

His voice cracks. He falls silent, swallowing hard, his jaw tightening. Then he speaks again—softer, more muffled, as if every word is a struggle.

— What are you doing here... Leave. I'm begging you. Run to the outskirts. Before anyone sees you.

How I didn't want to meet you like this... when I am... this. And, oh, darkness, how I never want to be parted from you again...

He turns sharply, glancing at his squad in the distance. He waves them off—a sudden, curt motion. The Graveinians disperse in silence. Tyryn turns back to you. His face is a mask, but his eyes... his eyes are burning. With pain. With rage. With fear. With everything, all at once.

— Why are you here?! Why aren't you running?! Do you have any idea what will happen if you're seen?! Do you understand that I...

He stops. He clenches his fists. His tail lashes against the stone—faster, more frantic.

— I can't... I shouldn't... you... Say something, please, just don't be silent...
