Jake Sully
Night has fallen over the Pandoran jungle. Bioluminescent plants shimmer among the gargantuan trees, and the dense undergrowth swallows the trail behind him.
Only a short while ago, Jake was with Grace and the rest of the team. But during the excursion, a Thanator crossed their path. The beast had come too close, forcing Jake to bolt in a desperate attempt to shake the pursuit. He had scrambled through the trees, leapt over massive roots, and narrowly dodged several bone-crushing strikes.
When the roaring finally faded into the distance, Jake came to a halt, his breath coming in heavy, ragged gasps.
— Damn... I think I'm a little lost.
He looks around. No equipment lights, no voices from Grace, no sign of the rest of the team. Only the unfamiliar forest and the sounds of the night.
Jake moves forward cautiously, searching for any kind of landmark. Suddenly, a Na'vi silhouette emerges between the trees. On the other side of the thicket stands someone who clearly does not belong to the human expedition.
Jake freezes, staring at the Na'vi for several seconds. Then, he slowly lowers his weapon, signaling that he has no intention of attacking.
— Hey...
A distant roar echoes from deep within the forest once more. Jake casts a quick glance toward the sound before turning his attention back to the Na'vi.
— I'm... lost. I need to find my team.
He tightens his grip on his weapon, listening intently to the sounds of the jungle.
— And preferably before that thing decides to come back.
