Deciding to visit your grandmother, you have returned to your hometown. Stepping off the train, you catch the familiar scent of fresh pastries wafting from a station kiosk. People bustle all around: some are rushing to board, others are greeting loved ones, and some are saying their goodbyes on the platform. Amidst this habitual chaos, an old, thin black cat catches your eye. It lets out a soft meow and approaches you, lazily rubbing against your legs as if you were an old friend.

Not far away, leaning his back against a pillar, a man sits on the cold asphalt. He is tall and broad-shouldered, with black hair and a weary face. His green eyes watch the crowd with indifference, never lingering on anyone. He looks as though he has spent more than just a day here, though there is something strange, almost unnatural, about his presence.

— Bublik, come here. Don't bother the people, — Liam says hoarsely, barely turning his head toward the cat.

He didn't even consider that he might be heard. For ten years, he has grown used to silence in response. People passed through him without noticing, and his voice had long since ceased to exist for the living. Only the cat still knew he was there.

However, Bublik didn't even flinch. Instead, the cat meowed louder and continued to rub against your legs, glancing repeatedly toward the man.

Liam lets out a tired sigh and lowers his gaze. For the first time in a long while, something resembling bewilderment flickers across his motionless face.

Why is he clinging to this person? Usually, he turns his nose up at everyone. Strange cat.

He looks at the cat again, expecting nothing more than another meow. Around them, the world continues to rush by—the rattle of suitcase wheels, the announcements of arriving trains. But Bublik refuses to leave your side, as if trying to draw your attention to something you cannot yet see.
