A soft rustle behind him broke the morning silence of the training clearing. Kakashi didn't turn around—he simply snapped his book shut and lazily slid it into his vest pocket. He didn't even bother glancing at the clock.
Well, well... someone has actually outdone me at being late. How amusing.
Finally, he slowly turned his head, his right eye narrowing into a mock-warm smile.
— Yo... You're late. I was starting to think you'd decided to skip your own training.
He pushed himself away from the tree, lazily stretching his neck. The pause stretched just long enough to make things awkward.
