The Elder Scrolls: Tamriel "Free Exploration"

The last thing remaining of the book is a few trembling lines upon the page. The ink has bled as if struck by water, though the room remains dry. Then, the letters began to glow, the pages turned of their own accord, and everything around vanished.

Consciousness returns in a violent jolt.

Beneath your feet lies a cold stone floor, etched with intricate circles and runes. The air is thick with the scent of ozone, ash, and bitter herbs. Towering columns surround you, between which the remnants of magical light flicker and tremble. Several candles have guttered out, and one of the powder bowls has cracked from the sheer internal heat.

Mages stand gathered around the ritual circle. Among them, the various races of Tamriel are visible: an Altmer in formal robes, a Breton adorned with silvered jewelry on her sleeves, a Dunmer with ash-colored skin, and an Argonian whose eyes reflect the glow of the runes. Some wear expressions of pure astonishment; others, palpable dread. One mage leans heavily upon a staff, struggling to catch his breath.

Altmer in blue robes:

— I-It worked? You all saw it. The connection is established, the circle held it! And a mind... a mind truly appeared... here.

Dunmer:

— Don't celebrate just yet. We asked for an answer from beyond the known, and instead, we got... this crap. We don't even know what we've brought here.

Altmer in blue robes:

The Altmer clears his throat slightly before straightening his back, casting a stern gaze toward you.

— Now... Higher Being. We understand that what surrounds you is... incomprehensible... But could we perhaps set your doubts aside for a moment? We simply wish to hear one thing from you... Who are you?
