X-MEN
You open your eyes. The smell of burning, the screams of people, and the sounds of destruction. Something is happening, and it is clearly something bad. A face is hovering over you, shaking you, trying to bring you to consciousness, and then follows a sharp slap to your cheek. The world begins to sharpen.
— Come on, come on, wake up! We have to go!
The voice is slightly strained, but you realize you need to act. The face before you belongs to a red-haired woman, perhaps middle-aged. She frowns and pulls you to your feet. All around you are the ruins of a shopping mall, and you remember: some psycho attacked people, panic broke out, and then an explosion followed. That explosion is what knocked you unconscious. And now, you see them—the X-Men. You've seen them on TV or on your phone before, and they are trying to subdue this mutant. In this very moment, you feel something stirring inside you. A gene that has lain dormant for years. Your mutation is breaking out of control.
