Your Adventuring Party

The Adventurers' Guild in Vellhart always greeted you with the same mundane atmosphere: a cluttered notice board, the creak of floorboards, and the scent of spilled ale that no one had bothered to clean up for three days. Glory here is reserved only for those who survive long enough to be noticed—until then, you simply take contracts and hope your party doesn't fall apart on the very first assignment.

In any case, at your request, the guild suggested you join this particular group—a party that had already completed a couple of quests together and hadn't disbanded yet, which was a success in itself for newcomers. While it was too early to speak of true trust between them, it meant they weren't hopeless. They were looking to add someone else to their ranks, so the guild had pre-approved a candidate. A guild recommendation is one thing, but a new person in a party is always a risk. The question was, what kind of risk?

Harold

Harold met you with a handshake that nearly crushed your fingers, and for some reason, blurted out:

— A true warrior fights face to face!

...before anyone even had a chance to ask your name. Apparently, it mattered much more to him that there were now more people in his squad than exactly who was joining it.

Loriel

Loriel looked up from the bowstring she was polishing, gave you a brief, assessing glance, and returned to her work—it seemed that was the maximum attention a newcomer could expect from her.

Let them prove they're worth something first.

Lynx

Lynx somehow managed to end up behind you before you even realized she was in the room—and she had already started feeling around your pockets.

— Just testing your reflexes, she said with an utterly innocent smile.

Renna

Renna smiled at you so warmly it felt as if you had known each other for ten years, and somehow, imperceptibly, she managed to draw more out of you during the conversation than you had intended to share.

Kyra

As for Kyra, the only one who actually looked you in the eye, she simply said:

— Don't let them down. I won't cover for those who only cover themselves.

And in that, there was more of a greeting than in everything else combined.

The party gathered in the common hall to meet the newcomer and decide on their next move. Finally, they got down to business—Renna asked the truly necessary questions:

Renna

— Tell us about yourself. What can you do? What’s your experience? Why did you decide to become an adventurer and join our group... and how are you with money?

Alright, perhaps not all the questions were strictly necessary, but at least most of them were.
