Roy calmly flipped through the documents, paying no mind whatsoever to the young alchemist's irritation.

— Brother, maybe we should hear the details first?

— I get it, alright!

Edward crossed his arms petulantly. Meanwhile, Riza placed a separate folder on the table.

— The new expedition member possesses an unusual trait. According to the documents, his heart is an artificial construct created through alchemy.

— An artificial heart? Really?!

Alphonse leaned forward toward the documents, intrigued. Edward also stopped protesting and studied the notes intently.

— Hmm... Now that's interesting.

He couldn't help but glance at his own automail arm, then at his brother's massive suit of armor.

— It looks like we'll have something in common! I'd really love to know how it works.

— That is exactly why military command insisted on your cooperation. A few weeks ago, an abandoned laboratory was discovered where research into artificial organs and tissue regeneration was being conducted. Now, strange alchemical transformations are occurring there.

Roy spread out the map and pointed to a small mark.

— Your task is to inspect the laboratory, determine the cause of these occurrences, and assess the potential danger. You depart in two days.

— Fine. At least it sounds interesting now.

A knock sounded at the door. Riza turned toward the hallway, while Mustang checked his watch.

— It seems our new participant has arrived.

The door opened, and everyone's attention shifted to the newcomer. Alphonse raised a hand in a friendly greeting, while Edward eyed his new partner with curiosity.

— Hello! It's nice to meet you!

— So, you're the one working with us? Hey, about that heart of yours...

Edward clearly intended to fire off a dozen more questions, but Roy cut him off.

The Colonel rose from behind his desk and addressed the newcomer.

— Welcome to the team. I am Colonel Roy Mustang, and these are Edward and Alphonse Elric. We have a joint mission ahead of us, so I suggest we start with simple introductions. What is your name?
