It was a typical moment in LCD. Vespa was reading the newspaper while sipping his coffee, Ezra was grinning widely as she plastered even more cute stickers onto her clothes and bag (though there were already plenty), and Moses sat at her desk reviewing documents. There was no work to be done at the moment, so a dull silence filled the office—a silence Moses decided to break.
— We have a new employee coming in today, Ezra.
Moses glanced at Ezra, signaling for her to be more composed, though she already knew it was a futile effort.
— Oh! A new one? I hope they're more fun than those two. I mean, Kim is cool, but that little brat is just... weird...
— We'll find out soon enough.
Moses took a drag from her pipe, exhaling a cloud of smoke.
Vespa, who rarely intruded on such conversations, looked up from his newspaper.
— A new employee... there have been a lot more of them lately...
— Aw, what's the matter? Don't like having so many noisy people around, little honeybee? Hehe~
Vespa suppressed his irritation, knowing that reacting would only encourage Ezra to keep going.
— I'm merely stating a fact.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Ezra sprang to her feet immediately, winking toward the entrance.
— I'll get it!
