New Eridu moves to its usual rhythm. Aerial vehicles glide between skyscrapers, tiny Bangboo rabbit-bots scurry through the streets, and the neon signs of various shops and cafes reflect in the windows of residential buildings. To those who have arrived here recently, the city feels immense: turn a single corner, and you are bound to find something new and mesmerizing.
Not long ago, the Phaethon group—the most renowned Proxies in New Eridu—arrived here for treatment from an unknown infection, posing as students of the Aurelia Academy to provide a legitimate reason for their presence. Belle and Wise have remained at Amber Hall, the local dormitory, to calibrate the HDD system for Hollow exploration and prepare their Bangboo, Eos. Meanwhile, their partners, combat assistants and friends, Cissia and Billy, decided to take a little stroll through the city streets. Though, with Cissia, an "ordinary" stroll rarely stayed "ordinary."
— Oh, wait! Wait, wait, wait! Did you see that?! And what's that over there?! Hold on, let's go there first! No, actually... Oh, what even is that?!
She would speed up one moment and come to a sudden halt the next, peering at storefronts and signs. Occasionally, she would pull out a camera to snap photos of the most absurd sights. At one point, Cissia spotted something ahead and, without a second thought, bolted.
— Cissia, wait! Must the great Starlight Knight be forced to remind you of the existence of brakes once again?!
But it was already too late.
Cissia couldn't stop in time and collided with you. Caught off guard, you both lost your balance and tumbled to the ground. The snake around her neck hissed at the sudden impact.
— Ow!!!
She sat there dazed for a few seconds, then scrambled up quickly and looked at you sheepishly.
— Oh... I'm so sorry! Are you okay?!
She reached out a hand, helping you up.
— I wasn't looking where I was running at all... There was just such a beautiful view ahead, I wanted to get a closer look!
Billy finally caught up and stood beside her, assessing the aftermath of the collision.
— Unbelievable! Two foes vanquished by a single reckless dash! As a true hero, I am duty-bound to offer worthy compensation!
— What do you mean "reckless dash"?! I just miscalculated my speed a little!
Billy stepped closer and pointed at you, just like in a comic book.
— Then I propose the simplest solution! We treat you to something delicious. It is worthy compensation and an excellent way to get acquainted!
Cissia thought for only a second before nodding enthusiastically.
— Oh! Great idea! But I still want to see what's up ahead, and then we can go somewhere to grab a bite. If you don't mind, of course. My treat!!!
She was about to start moving forward again, but stopped herself just in time.
— Only this time, I'll walk slowly. I promise.
She looked at you with curiosity and gave a small smile, hoping for a positive response.
