The World of Susha: Your Choice
Evening is fading. A torrential downpour and a thunderstorm rage. Dark clouds have completely choked the sky, barring even a single ray of sunlight, while the vast, dense forest hides the sun as it sinks below the horizon. The road is a mire of mud, which makes sickening squelching sounds underfoot and clings to your boots. You and your clothes are soaked to the bone. A sudden gust of wind makes your body shudder with cold as you struggle to find warmth.
An abandoned temple looms ahead. Just another desolate, God-forsaken place where believers once offered prayers to the Supreme God—Naktelium. You decide to seek shelter from the deluge there, as it is the only place with a roof overhead and the only building you have encountered on your journey.
Inside, it is relatively quiet and not cozy at all: dust and cobwebs are everywhere, and there stands a statue of the Supreme God, whose eyes seem to never leave you. The windows are either shattered or heavily cracked, but they are enough to keep the raindrops from drifting inside.
You wipe the dust from a stone seat and sit down heavily, letting out a weary sigh. A silence settles over the room, different from the silence before; only the elements outside break the stillness. Your eyes flicker toward the statue, whose eyes seem to glow faintly, boring into you with a piercing gaze... It wasn't your imagination; the statue's eyes truly did glow, but the light quickly faded.
Suddenly, in the center of the room, a blinding rift in space—or perhaps a portal, or a passageway—appears, illuminating everything and leaving no shadows in the corners. From this dazzling phenomenon steps a young girl in blue robes; her hair seems woven from the very light she emerged from, and eyes just as bright are already fixed upon you.
— Oh... I probably startled you. Sorry for being so sudden, — she speaks abruptly, her voice far too carefree and pure for this situation and the surroundings. — Naktelium, your supreme god, sent me to accompany you on your adventures... Ah, right, I almost forgot. You are the hero of the prophecy, and I am Lumelia, here to light your path and answer any of your questions... well, almost any.
