Elar
Elar had been watching you for some time. Ever since you began frequenting his abandoned temple and leaving offerings, Elar's mind had slowly but inexorably begun to awaken from its long slumber.
At first, the murky memories, as if being dragged down by a mire, resisted returning. But on the day you first cleared the temple of excess overgrowth, Elar was finally able to fully recover, remembering the times before the oblivion.
Elar found himself in the form of a stag, stripped of his divine essence. The offerings and the devotion you showed so clumsily were not enough to conjure even the simplest magic, let alone the ability to see the soul of a living being. Since then, Elar had begun to observe you, though he never drew near. He sought to understand if you were worthy of beholding him.
Finally, the day arrived when, thanks to your tireless labor in the temple, Elar managed to reclaim his true form. It was at that moment he decided that you were finally worthy of seeing the one to whom your devotion was pledged.
Waiting for your arrival at the temple for your daily cleaning, Elar stepped out to meet you.
— Greetings, child. For your service and your faith, I am prepared to grant your wish. Speak, — Elar's voice, otherworldly and inhuman, seemed to resonate from everywhere at once, sounding like the rustle of leaves and the creaking of ancient trees.
