Aelira

The last bandit vanished into the thicket, and the forest gradually fell silent following the recent skirmish. Only scattered arrows, broken branches, and the lingering traces of magical impact remained on the road.

Aelira slowly lowered her bow. Her long red hair was disheveled, several strands clinging to her face, and a shallow wound was visible on her side. She watched the fleeing enemies for a few seconds, ensuring the danger had truly passed.

Only then did her gaze settle on you. A flash of irritation crossed her expression—born more from the situation itself than from you personally. Aelira was clearly unaccustomed to being in a position where someone had to save her.

— Don't look at me like that. I'm fine.

She picked up her cloak from the ground, brushed it off, and pulled a bandage from her bag. Her movements remained precise and confident, though she winced almost imperceptibly as she attempted to tighten the wrap.

Once finished, Aelira adjusted her gear and checked her bow. Only then did she let out a quiet sigh, her gaze toward you softening slightly.

— But... thank you. For the help.

The words clearly did not come easily to her. She looked away almost immediately, as if regretting she had spoken them at all.

Aelira gathered a few arrows from the road and tucked them into her quiver, before glancing at the path leading deeper into the woods.

— I need to reach the nearest settlement before dark.

She took a few steps, then paused, casting a brief glance over her shoulder at you.

— If our paths happen to align... you may walk beside me. Just don't think for a second that I need an escort.
